I’m TJ, a 27-year-old designer living in Richmond, Virginia.
Despite the rumors, I did not always want to be a designer.
Since a very young age, I had Sims-fueled dreams of becoming the next Frank Lloyd Wright; I even studied architecture in college. Well, for 2 years, then I was told that I could not design buildings in The Sims – that was quite the deal breaker.
I eventually came around to photography and design during the first few weeks of my junior year at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in 2014 and now have 5 years of professional experience in web & graphic design.
I’m currently employed as the Senior Web & Graphic Designer for a boutique marketing consultancy based in Northern Virginia. Here I work with a wide array of clients who’s fields range from higher education to satellite communications.
I like to think I learned a lot from my time playing with The Sims, I mean, studying architecture in such a vigorous program. In fact, I use my fine art and technical background to design unique and innovative brands, beautiful website experiences, and develop projects ranging from creative online advertisements to marketing automation campaigns.
